Life and Funny Tales

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

First, it is Thursday and I was going to give you Texas snow pictures taken in the middle of the night on Monday. Illness made it so that never happened and then I couldn’t get them off of my camera. I need an in house tech man…I have one, but he has to go to work. Top that off with him being sick and no one is doing all that well these days. After almost two weeks of being sick, I am looking forward to feeling loads better. I felt good on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Peter felt ill on Sunday and everything went down hill from there. The part that makes me feel the worse is poor little Marcus’ cough. He sounds terrible.

Anyway. Such as life and we will see if we can get those snow pictures up before Christmas! :-P

The Funny Tales. Be warned, some may find this very disterbing.

Simply put, we have a pair of rats. They were purchased at PetSmart and aren’t the pesky sort that you don’t want in your house. Instead, they enjoy playing, love it when we clean their cage, and even like to be pet. Both are white with tan heads and they are both very friendly. Mishka has been an escape artist in the past and even came to visit us in our room one night (it seems that if you have a rat that gets out at night they love coming to visit you in your room). Anyway…Marcus loves the rat and spends a lot of time talking with them, playing with them through their cage, and such.

This morning seemed like no other. It was still dark in here. He was really excited and kept saying, “Rat, Rat, Rat!” Since he is also one with a good imagination, so when he started “chasing” the rat around the room I figured he was just imagining it. Well…he ended up on the floor crouched down. He was in such a position that it seemed he might really have caught a rat. When I came over, he was holding Mishka. he was super excited that he had caught a rat.

This is quickly becoming one of those, you had to be there stories. I see it now. I am laughing inside at the image of the small three year old boy crouched over his prize catch. Everyone else is going, “um, okay”.

Well, have a great day or night. Enjoy life and remember family and friends.
